Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011 – Open for Application
The awards recognise and celebrate the success, best practice, innovative ideas and outstanding achievements of small and medium-sized businesses throughout the UK, including a £2,000 cash prize for category winners.
The Award categories for 2011 include:
Small Business of the Year (more than one year trading) – for businesses with fewer than 250 employees and turnover of less than £9 million.
Start-up of the Year (less than one year) – for businesses with fewer than 250 employees and turnover of less than £9 million. Entrepreneur(s) of the Year – for businesses run by an individual (or individuals) that have fewer than 250 employees and can demonstrate profitability over a consecutive three-year period.
Online Business of the Year – for businesses that can demonstrate how innovative use of the internet has boosted sales and growth, with more than 70% of sales achieved via the company’s website. Contribution to the Community Awards – for the UK small business or social enterprise that can best demonstrate the most significant contribution to the community.
The 2011 Awards will be judged by a panel including UK businesswoman Karen Brady, Office Depot Merchandising and Marketing Manger John O’Keefe, business journalist Guy Clapperton, and James Frost, Marketing Manager at Nectar. The winner of the Contribution to the Community Award will be chosen by a public vote, commencing on 6 June 2011, after the judges have selected up to five finalists.
The prize package includes: £2,000 cash, 50,000 nectar points and national media publicity. Application forms are available for download from the Nectar Business Awards website.
The deadline for applications is 30 April 2011.
