The Oswestry Chamber of Commerce have been invited by Shropshire Council (SC) to submit proposals for the next round of funding from the Market Town Revitalisation Programme. For those that are unaware of this programme, the background is that Shropshire Council were allocated funding by central government to spend on local activities or projects that will help to revitalise market towns.
The criteria for proposals are on the SC website (click on the links below):
The Chamber are working with members to identify ideas, which will be submitted to SC in early September. We also intend to work with other groups with an economic interest in the town, for example, Pubwatch, to share ideas and thoughts as they emerge in order to ensure that ideas that are submitted have the broad support of as many groups as possible.
This is a great opportunity to make proposals about how funds can be spent to help maintain and enhance Oswestry as a location for business, residents and visitors alike. However, none of us have a monopoly on good ideas, so if anybody with an economic interest in the town has any suggestions to make (Chamber members or not), we would be delighted to hear from you.
Time is short, but if you have any ideas please contact us as soon as possible either by commenting on this post or emailing us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
